March 12 Mark & Steve from Photon capture, a company that can take any part, however obscure in shape or intricate in detail, take a 3D laser scan of it and turn it into a model that most any CAD program can interpret. If you have something very difficult to remake or reverse engineer because you cannot put dimensions to it you’ll want to see this. Learn more at their website: www.photoncapture.com

April 9 We will get a visit from Officer Rod Rodriguez of the CHP. He will advise us of the dos and don’ts of trailer towing and what they look for that could cost us time and money. After his presentation he’ll answer any specific questions club members might have.

May 14 Bob Gromm of Gromm Racing Heads & Engines will be giving a talk on cylinder head design, trends, myths and such. If you’re going to build that new track engine be sure to give a listen. These sorts of things can get deep in content so we may ask him to keep it light and schedule him again to dive deep in to valve types and sizes vs. port size, shape, porting, chamber design and maybe some trade secrets….

June 11 Mike Rao is going to give a presentation on Carburetor tuning, application, myth busting and general how does it work. He is sending me an outline on what he plans to cover. Again, here is your chance to send me questions I can pass onto him that will help steer him towards what we’re interested in. This will be a very informative presentation. I look forward to seeing you all there. rbanks@cardiokinetix.com

July 9 We will have Tom Georgalos talking about the BP problem….that’s a crude joke….He’ll be talking about the differences between synthetic vs. conventional oils. Sure to be a slick subject……Ok I‘ll stop. If he presents like he does in the driver’s meetings, it will be entertaining to say the least!

August 13 We will have Bill Godwin talking about the next step from open track to SCCA Vintage Racing.

September 10  We will be at Custom Alignment this time for sure! Joe Silva will discuss suspension technology and why our early cars lack it. This is a perfect venue for club cars so I expect to see many! Be sure to arrive early for the customary parking lot bench racing discussions. Subjects will include but are not limited to: Muffler bearing packing, rubber lobe camshaft trends and piston return spring advancements.
