Dyno Day
& Lunch & Karting

On Saturday, July 12th, Nor Cal member Tom McCarthy will host a club dyno day at his private race car shop in Fremont. Tom has his own in ground chassis dyno and has graciously invited the club to run some cars and see how much power they really have.

We won't be offering any tuning time, just a couple of power pulls so as to allow as many cars to run as we can. We expect 20-30 minutes per car, so we can run 12-15. Again this is private race car shop, not a business, and because of that we expect the car owners to come prepared to help get their cars on the dyno. What this means is come prepared to know where to strap the rear of the car and be prepared to get down and maybe a little dirty on the process, unless your car is really clean. We'll have all the hardware, straps, etc, just need active participation from you. We may also have a helpers there to do some of the dirty work .  The cost for this? FREE.

Spectators are welcome to just hang out and watch. The only thing we ask is that any small children be strictly supervised and kept away from the dyno itself. Tom has an interesting shop and collection of race cars. (Ever seen a dyno for a 2HP Quarter midget?)

Ron Tredway will be cooking lunch, "Tred's Tri-Tip", and maybe some hotdogs. Club will provide beverages and chips. We'll pass the hat ($5 a person) to help defray the cost of the food.

We'll kick things off at a leisurely 10:00 AM, and wrap up around 4PM.

Le Mans Karting (across the street), has offered the club 50% discounnt on races, and if we have enough participants they'll give us our own race. They are planning a muscle car display and have offered us parking for our cars during the day. For more info contact Dave Murray (408) 679-2679 Cell.
