The possibilities!  As if we needed more to do!

We have in our Club membership a gentleman who serves in many capacities, Friend of the Club business owner, OTEC member, BOD member and a member of the Wiener Dogs.  Joe Silva also is a pit crew member for the ALMS team Ford GTR! 

Last year Joe suggested the club setup a Corral at the Mazda Laguna ALMS event.  Given the short time frame before the event, the BOD decided we did not have the time necessary to do a proper job setting things up.  So seeing as I had a whole year to plan, I contacted Mazda Laguna Seca for details.

The American Le Mans Series Monterey Presented by Patron will be held this year on May 21-23, 2010 with a 6 hour endurance race Saturday.  This race weekend is in dramatic fashion with the high-tech, high-speed Le Mans prototypes and GT machines of the American Le Mans Series staging a Saturday afternoon-into-evening six-hour race.  Sunday's action features the SPEED World Challenge Touring and GT series, the IMSA Challenge, Atlantic Championship and Star Mazda Series

The Club Corrals are for Saturday and Sunday, May 22/23 either in the lake bed area similar to the Historics or inside turn 5 similar to Sunday at the Historics.  If we have enough interest we can be there to view the races and show off our cars (and maybe take some attention away from the Corvette and Porsche guys who show up in mass).  We must purchase a minimum of 10 tickets ($50 each) and Corral passes ($10 each)  I attended the races 2 years ago and really enjoyed myself.  As a special treat, if we have interest, (!) Joe can setup a tour of the Ford GTR pits for attendees!!  The Corral rules will be the same as for the Historic Races; and this is a quote from Lewis Downs "Cars must be in popular car show condition, be of a performance nature and have a Blue Oval lineage (that means FORD in case some GM guy is reading this).
