New Web Site

Welcome to the new, redesigned Nor Cal Shelby Club website. This is the first complete overhaul and freshening since the site was orginally developed by Scott Hirose in late 1996 . Besides the obvious new look, there are also some very good technical reasons for the change. Some of the pages will be overhauled in the coming weeks, and we'll be adding more content and pictures.

We'd like to hear from you. If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to use our Comment Form.

For those who are interested in some of the technical under-the-hood stuff:

  • The site was designed using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks. These replaced several prehistoric tools, such as AOL Press, Netscape Composer and Notepad.
  • All webpages have been converted to XHTML standards, and use CSS formatting. The advantage here is compatibility going forward with web standards. HTML is obsolete, and with it some of the original text formatting code, like the ubiquitous <font> tag.
  • We no longer use frames. Frames are a love/hate issue. The primary cons of using frames are the inability of the user to bookmark a specific page on the site, and the sometimes annoying dfficulty of printing exactly the frame you want.
  • Using modern editing tools like Dreamweaver makes the site much easier to maintain, and to improve with new features down the road.
  • It was time we moved into the new millenium! .... well, at least the late 90s.
