At the Saturday night dinner and Doo Dah held in Willows, CA during our Spring Sprint event, Dave Vodden, CEO of Thunderhill Park presented the Nor Cal Shelby Club with the award for Most Valuable Contributor 2000. This is in recognition of the continuing improvements the Shelby Club contributes to the track, from the initial investment, to the Shelby Club deck in the paddock and last Fall's memorial tree planting on the hill.
Thunderhill and the SCCA have always treated the Shelby Club like one of the family. In fact, at a recent Thunderhill board meeting, Tom McCarthy, Chairman of the Thunderhill Board, described the Shelby Club as "the God Parents of Thunderhill". (Hey, Tom, does that mean we get custody if you can't manage it any more?)
Through the foresight of people like Ron Tredway, Jack Schroll and others, we now are guaranteed a place to drive our cars for years to come.
